Shell Ireland is offering Shell Third Level Scholarship programme for students in Erris, Co. Mayo. The scholarships will be available to successful applicants for the first year of study of their chosen third level course.

Number of Scholarships: Shell Ireland will offer sixteen scholarships to Leaving Certificate students in Erris.

Scholarship can be taken in Ireland

Eligibility: The programme is exclusive to the students of the four secondary schools in Erris, Co. Mayo (Coláiste Chomain, Ros Dumhach, Our Lady’s Secondary School, Belmullet, St. Brendan’s Secondary College, Belmullet and St. Patrick’s College, Lacken Cross).

PhD Scholarships at Dairy and Grassland at UCD Lyons Research Farm in Ireland

Applications are invited for three PhD NutriGen project funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine based at UCD Lyons Research Farm. These scholarships are awarded in the field of Dairy and Grassland.

The aim of the PhD scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from Ireland.

UCD  Lyons  Research Farm develop and apply the science and scholarship of agriculture, food, environmental sciences and rural development for the benefit of society through excellence in education, research, innovation and continuing professional development.

Course Level: These scholarships are available to pursue PhD.

Study Subject: These scholarships are awarded in the field of Dairy and Grassland.

Scholarship Award: The PhD award provides a stipend of €24,000 per annum. University fees are paid by the student from the stipend. The successful candidates will register with the School of Agricultural Science and Food Science and the School of Veterinary Medicine at University College Dublin for a PhD degree.

Scholarship can be taken in Ireland

PhD Scholarships for EU and Non-EU Students in Ireland

University College Cork (UCC) is offering a number of Excellence Scholarships for EU and non-EU students. Scholarships are available for students who intend to start a PhD, PhD track or MPhil degree in the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences in September 2017 or January 2018.

University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Cork is a constituent university of the National University of Ireland. The university is located in Cork.

Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD (or PhD Track, or MPhil as a pathway to a PhD) programme at the University College Cork.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded within the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS).

Scholarship Award: The scholarships cover EU tuition fees and are tenable for the duration of the student’s chosen postgraduate course. The scholarships are open to EU and non-EU students. However, the funding will only cover the EU fee, so successful non-EU applicants will be responsible for the balance.

Scholarship can be taken in Ireland

Eligibility: Applicants must have at least Second Class Honours (Grade 1) or equivalent in their first or subsequent degree and must have already applied for their chosen postgraduate course. A referee’s report will be required as part of the application process.

Nationality: The scholarships are open to EU and non-EU students.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • Postgraduate studentships are available to new entrants as well as continuing students on the full-time PhD register for entry in September and/or the following March of the same academic year (e.g. September 2017 and/or March 2018). The postgraduate Studentships aim to support and develop gifted research students. They are awarded competitively on academic merit.

Nationality: EU and non-EU applicants are eligible to apply for these studentships.
