IRDR Young Scientists Program for International Students: IRDR Young Scientists Program for International Students in China
Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) IRDR Young Scientists Program is open for all the young scientists from around the world to pursue research in China for the academic session of 2017.
To increase awareness among young scientists about Sendai Framework implementation and provide opportunities for further engagement through the Young Scientists Program on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is the major objective of the scholarship.
Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) is a decade-long research program which is co-sponsored by the International Social Science Council (ISSC), the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR).

Scholarship Details:
- A certificate for IRDR Young Scientist upon successful completion of the program
- Link to IRDR network of professionals and practitioners
- Access to IRDR Scientific Committee (SC) for academic support and advice
- Participation in IRDR related training programs (a different selection process for each of the training program would be done)

Scholarship can be taken in China
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant should be less than 40 years on the date of application
- Applicants must be either master or doctorate.
- Research subject: The subject of research needs to be related to disaster risk reduction and must be linked to broader environment and development issues.
- Endorsement: The applicant must be endorsed by academic supervisor (for the student) or head of the department /graduate school (for the young faculties).
- The candidate should have a very good command over the English language.
Scholarship Duration: Minimum 1 year, and maximum 3 years. The applicant can make their choice but the final decision will be made by IRDR.
Nationality: open to all nationalities
